Since Compass Pro is a SaaS solution, no on-premises servers are required. Practices only need reliable devices with modern browsers. Below are recommended device categories:
Desktops & Laptops (for advanced workflows & scanning)
- CPU: Intel Core i5+/AMD Ryzen 5+
- RAM: 8–16 GB
- SSD storage (256 GB+)
- Dual monitors recommended
- Dynamsoft Service installed (if scanning required)
Chromebooks & Android Tablets
- CPU: Intel N-series / ARM Cortex A73+ / Snapdragon 8xx+
- RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB preferred)
- Storage: 64 GB+ (or cloud storage)
- Display: 10”+ 1080p screen
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5/6, LTE/5G (optional)
iPads & iPhones
- iOS 13+
- Safari or Chrome for full Compass Pro access
- Excellent for telehealth, patient portal, and mobile EMR access
Scanners & Capture Devices
- Windows/macOS/Linux only: TWAIN, WIA, ICA, SANE, eSCL (via Dynamic Web TWAIN + Dynamsoft Service)
- Chromebooks/Android/iOS: Camera capture & file uploads (TWAIN drivers not supported)
- Cloud/Network scanners: Recommended for practices using tablets/Chromebooks.
With this setup, practices can run Compass Pro in a zero-deployment SaaS environment, while selectively using desktops for scanner-intensive workflows.
