Hardware Requirements

Since Compass Pro is a SaaS solution, no on-premises servers are required. Practices only need reliable devices with modern browsers. Below are recommended device categories:

Desktops & Laptops (for advanced workflows & scanning)

  • CPU: Intel Core i5+/AMD Ryzen 5+
  • RAM: 8–16 GB
  • SSD storage (256 GB+)
  • Dual monitors recommended
  • Dynamsoft Service installed (if scanning required)

Chromebooks & Android Tablets

  • CPU: Intel N-series / ARM Cortex A73+ / Snapdragon 8xx+
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB preferred)
  • Storage: 64 GB+ (or cloud storage)
  • Display: 10”+ 1080p screen
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5/6, LTE/5G (optional)

iPads & iPhones

  • iOS 13+
  • Safari or Chrome for full Compass Pro access
  • Excellent for telehealth, patient portal, and mobile EMR access

Scanners & Capture Devices

  • Windows/macOS/Linux only: TWAIN, WIA, ICA, SANE, eSCL (via Dynamic Web TWAIN + Dynamsoft Service)
  • Chromebooks/Android/iOS: Camera capture & file uploads (TWAIN drivers not supported)
  • Cloud/Network scanners: Recommended for practices using tablets/Chromebooks.

With this setup, practices can run Compass Pro in a zero-deployment SaaS environment, while selectively using desktops for scanner-intensive workflows.
